HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After a scoreless top of the first by Hager, the Hoyas got on the board first with a double steal by Koo and Turner to plate the first run of the game and give GU an early 1-0 advantage.
  • The Hoyas would continue to tack on early with a three-run second, powered by an RBI single from Pardini and an RBI triple from Park to help grow the lead to 4-0.
  • West Georgia would cut the lead in half with runs in the third and fourth inning, before Turner came up and hit her second homer of the season to left field, stretching the Georgetown lead to 5-2.
  • West Georgia would threaten in the bottom half of the fifth, getting two runners on base with one out, but Hager escaped a jam and got two king-sized outs to keep the runners stranded and hold a 5-2 lead.
  • The lead would stay that way until the seventh inning, where the Hoyas would put up five runs, headlined by a two-run single from Sammy Fenton.
  • West Georgia would add two runs in the seventh, but it would not be enough as the Hoyas complete a 3-0 weekend with a 10-4 victory over the Wolves.
