How it Happened
- St. John's scored early, but the Hoyas would stay right there to keep it within a possession.

- St. John's kept it close, but the play of freshmen Alexia Araujo-Dagba and Jaeda Wilson kept the Hoyas on top.
- In the final seconds of the half, the Hoyas pulled down a rebound and sent the outlet to freshman Khadee Hession who fired a contested shot from half court that was nothing but net to make it 34-29 at the break.
- The third quarter belonged to St. John's as the Red Storm opened with an 18-2 run.
- The end of the quarter saw offsetting technicals as the game got physical and GU trailed 59-41 after three.
