WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's basketball team couldn't contain the No. 21/22 Marquette University Golden Eagles, falling 76-61 in a Saturday night matchup at Capital One Arena. With the setback, Georgetown slips to 16-13 on the year with a 7-11 mark in BIG EAST play. The Golden Eagles improve to 22-7 overall, with a 13-5 record in league action.
ON THE RECORD
"I thought we played one of the more connected teams in our league, if not the country, with their experience. You can see how well they play off of one another, they're very comfortable. I didn't think we had a physical approach today. We looked disconnected on both offense and defense. We didn't have the right chemistry together. But we have an opportunity on Tuesday. I'm very proud of how hard our guys played. We just played a better team. The better team won today. No matter what we did, they had an answer. We'll stay positive and keep our guys moving forward."
