WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team dropped its final nonconference game of the 2025 season 13-12 to visiting No. 14 Richmond on Saturday at Cooper Field. The No. 13 Hoyas fall to 5-3 overall while the Spiders improve to 6-3 on the year.

How it Happened
- A tale of two halves, Richmond and Georgetown nearly mirrored their scoring output in the two frames. The Spiders opened the game with consecutive scores and had an answer for every GU rebuttal in the opening frame en route to a 5-3 lead after 15 minutes of action.
- In the second, an early goal from the Blue & Gray was countered with three-straight goals to close out the half as Richmond took a 9-4 lead going into the break.
- Coming out of halftime, Richmond seemed to take control of the game by scoring four of the first five goals in the second half to lead 12-5 with 8:45 to play in the third. The Hoyas began to mount their comeback from there, closing the stanza out on a 3-0 run to pull within four, down 12-8.
- After an early Richmond goal in the fourth, a mid-quarter lull turned to a frantic scoring spree for the Hoyas as Georgetown scored four goals in a 4:24 span to make it a one possession game with 68 seconds remaining as part of a 7-1 run down the stretch. Winning the ensuing faceoff and calling a timeout with less than a minute to play, Georgetown got a solid look but was stopped by Richmond's goalie to seal the victory.
Richmond Notes
- Aidan O'Neil led the Spiders with six points off of two goals and an assist, Lucas Littlejohn added three goals and two assists while Jack Ricciardi had a hat trick as well.
- Jared Chenoy won 12-of-27 faceoffs and led all players with seven ground balls.
- Defensively, Mitchell Dunham had five caused turnovers and six ground balls.
- In goal, Zach Vigue (6-3) had eight saves and five ground balls in the victory.
Georgetown Notes
- With his four points, Carroll moves into 28th place all time on the Georgetown career scoring list with 110 points. He passes Travis Comeau '13 on the list.
- Plath's caused turnover gives him 19 on the season, tied for 17 most in a single season on the Hilltop. Only Gibson Smith IV (19 in 2018) and Ty Banks (24 in 2024) have recorded as many or more during their freshman campaign at Georgetown.
