How It Happened
- It was a pitchers' duel early, with Dunn escaping first-inning trouble by striking out back-to-back batters to keep Villanova off the scoreboard. In the bottom half, the Hoyas went down 1-2-3.
- Dunn continued to put up zeros with some help from her defense. With one out and one on in the top of the second, Nina Sarlo made a great leaping catch at the wall to rob an extra-base hit and keep the game scoreless.
- The game remained scoreless until the top of the fifth, when Villanova scored four runs on three consecutive hits to take a 4-0 lead.
- The Hoyas chipped away in the bottom half of the inning. A Park double, followed by a Pardini single, plated a run, cutting the deficit to 4-1.
- After a scoreless sixth inning from Hager, the Hoyas responded again in the bottom of the sixth. A Strittmatter walk led to an RBI single from Park, cutting the deficit to 4-2 heading into the seventh.
- The Blue & Gray were unable to mount a comeback, as Georgetown fell short to Villanova, 4-2, in the final game of the series.
