Box Score 2 WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University softball team drop both of its games in a doubleheader against the Butler Bulldogs on Friday in Indianapolis. In the first game, the Hoyas came up short, losing 3-2, before dropping the second game 6-2. With the losses, Georgetown falls to 8-17, 0-11 in the BIG EAST, while Butler improves to 19-10, 8-3 in the BIG EAST.

How it Happened
- Both pitchers started strong, with both teams posting zeros through the first two innings to keep the score tied at 0-0.
- The Hoyas opened the scoring in the top of the third. A walk by Turner came around to score on Campos' RBI single, giving Georgetown an early 1-0 lead.
- Georgetown continued to build its lead in the top of the fourth. The Hoyas put two runners on for Rebhan, who delivered an RBI single up the middle to extend the lead to 2-0.
- That lead held until the bottom of the fifth, when Butler scored three runs on four hits to retake the lead, 3-2.
- Butler shut the door in the sixth and seventh innings to secure a 3-2 win.
Game 2: Butler 6, Georgetown 2
Hoya Highlights
- Kozo had a huge day at the plate. The sophomore went 3-for-3 with an RBI.
- Strittmatter went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
- Rebhan was 1-for-3.
- Gabby Park went 1-for-4.
- Campos, Fenton, Koo and Nina Sarlo all reached base safely.
How it Happened
- The Hoyas scored first, with Emily Strittmatter driving in Campos from first on a single and advancing to third. Kozo later plated Strittmatter with an RBI single to make it 2-0.
- Wissmar was able to hold the Bulldogs scoreless until the third, when Butler would tack on a run off of an error to cut the deficit in half at 2-1.
- Butler would rally once again in the fifth inning. A hit, two walks and a Georgetown miscue would plate two runs for the Bulldogs, giving them a 3-2 at the end of the fifth.
- Butler would build off of that lead just an inning later. The Bulldogs would put up three runs off of three RBI hits to build the lead to 6-2 heading into the seventh.
- The Bulldogs would close the door and secure a 6-2 win to complete the sweep of the doubleheader.
