WASHINGTON – Georgetown University women's golf's
Georgia Ruffolo was named the Co-BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league on Thursday. The recognition comes after the senior co-captain was the top Hoya finisher at the City of Oaks Collegiate, held in Raleigh, North Carolina and hosted by NC State University. The Hoyas finished eighth of 17 teams with a team score of 76-over 939 (316-298-325) after three rounds of play on the par-72, 6,143-yard course at the Lonnie Poole Golf Club. Ruffolo shares the honor with Seton Hall's Marta Aguilar.
GEORGIA RUFFOLO (SENIOR / CAPTAIN / TAMPA, FLA.)
- Georgia Ruffolo tied for third at the City of Oaks Collegiate, hosted by NC State at the Lonnie Poole Golf Club in Raleigh, North Carolina.
- After a 1-over 73 in the final 18 holes, Georgia Ruffolo carded a 3-over 219 (76-70-73) following three rounds of action to be the top Hoya finisher.
- She tallied 12 birdies (4/5/3) and 29 pars (8/10/11) over the tournament as the Hoyas placed eighth in the 17-team field.
- This is the fourth Golfer of the Week honor of Ruffolo's career and the fourth of the season for the Blue & Gray after a pair of distinctions in the fall (Megan Gormley - September 11; Ruffolo - October 24) and one earlier this spring (Gormley - February 13).
