Hoya Highlights
How it Happened
-
The bats got rolling early for the Hoyas. After Rebhan reached on an error, Strittmatter drove her in with an RBI double to straight away center to give Georgetown an early 1-0 lead.
-
That lead held through the first three frames as Dunn was pounding the strike zone for GU. Dunn retired nine out of 10 Bulldogs that came to the plate as the Hoyas held a 1-0 lead heading into the fourth.
-
The Hoyas would tack on another run to extend its lead. A Campos walk would advance to third with two outs for Turner, who found a hole up the middle to drive in the second run of the game, giving Georgetown a 2-0 lead.
-
The Bulldogs would threaten in the fourth. A walk, an error and a stolen base would put runners on second and third with one out, but Dunn buckled down and got two consecutive putouts to keep Butler off the board and hold the lead at 2-0.
-
Dunn continued to shut down the Butler offense. She retired six more Bulldogs without allowing a hit to take a no-hit bid into the seventh inning.
-
In the seventh, Butler put together four consecutive hits, including a game-tying two-run double and an RBI single to walk it off and complete the comeback, 3-2.
