WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University softball team dropped the opening game of a three-game set against Creighton 5-0. With the loss, the Hoyas drop to 8-21 on the season with an 0-13 mark in BIG EAST action while the Bluejays improve to 13-19, 3-7 in conference action.

How it Happened
- Creighton got on the board in the top half of the first. A single, stolen base and another single would plate the first run for the Bluejays, giving them an early 1-0 lead after the top of the first.
- In the bottom of the first, a Strittmatter double would be stranded at second, keeping the score at 1-0.
- The Hoyas would threaten again in the bottom half of the second with a double from Pardini and a single from Sarlo, but would come up empty.
- The game would remain at 1-0 until the top of the fifth. CU sent eight batters to the plate and tallied four runs on four hits, which included a two-run shot to straightaway center to open up a 5-0 heading into the bottom of the fifth.
- The Bluejays would add insurance in the top of the sixth with another two-run home run, growing the lead to 7-0.
- That lead would hold, as Creighton took the opening game of the series, 7-0.
Of Note
- With three strikeouts in the loss, Dunn is one strikeout away from 350 for her collegiate career. The graduate student has tallied 53 on the season thus far.
- Pall tallied her first hit of the season with a line drive single to left field.
- Sarlo reached base all three times she went to the plate. The freshmen went 1-for-1 with a pair of walks.
