Hoya Highlights
How it Happened
- Creighton would jump on the board three batters into the game. A walk and two singles plated a run for the Bluejays to give them an immediate 1-0 lead in the top of the first. The damage was limited in the first in large part to a huge double play from Sarlo, who threw a perfect strike to Hollie Pardini to gun down the runner trying to score, keeping the score 1-0.
- That score would remain until the fourth inning, when Creighton would bat around and tally six runs on six hits building up a 7-0 heading into the bottom half of the fourth.
- While the Blue & Gray offense was held quiet, the Bluejay offense would bat around again in the top half of the fifth, putting another six spot on the board and expanding the lead to 13-0.
- The Hoyas couldn't answer in the bottom of the fifth and would come up short, 13-0 in five innings in the third game.
Of Note
- With a strikeout in the second inning, Kayla Dunn tallied the 350 strikeout of her collegiate career. The graduate student ranks fifth in career strikeouts for the Hoyas.
- Maggie Howard's single up the middle in the bottom of the fifth marked the first hit of her collegiate career.
