WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's basketball team has announced the nonconference portion of the 2025-26 schedule, presented by MedStar Health. The Hoyas will open the season with a pair of exhibition games followed by 11 nonconference matchups with seven at home, including five at Capital One Arena, the downtown home of the Blue & Gray, as well as a pair at McDonough Arena, GU's on-campus home venue.

EXHIBITION: at George Washington | Saturday, October 18, 2025 | Charles E. Smith Center (Washington, D.C.)
- Georgetown and George Washington have faced each other 93 times with the Hoyas holding a 54-39 record in the series dating back to 1907.
- The most recent time the two teams met was a 61-48 Hoya win on December 16, 1981.
- The 2025-26 seasons marks Head Coach Chris Caputo's fourth season with the Revolutionaries.
- GW went 21-13 record last season with a 9-9 record in Atlantic 10 play. The Revs advanced to the inaugural College Basketball Crown, falling to Boise State in the first round.
- Head Coach Ed Cooley has never faced GW.

- Georgetown and Kentucky have faced each other twice with the Hoyas winning both meetings. The most recent time the two teams met was during the 1984 NCAA Final Four when Georgetown defeated Kentucky 53-40 en route to the 1984 NCAA Championship.
- Kentucky went 24-12 overall in Head Coach Mark Pope's inaugural season at his alma mater with a 10-8 record in SEC action.
- The Wildcats advanced to the 2025 NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 with wins over Troy and Illinois before falling to Tennessee.
- Cooley has faced a Kentucky squad three times in his career, most recently as the head coach of Providence College in the 2023 NCAA Tournament First Round, a Wildcat win.

- Georgetown and Morgan State will meet for the 16th time in program history with the Hoyas owning a perfect 15-0 record dating back to the 1921-22 season. Most recently, the Hoyas won a 91-65 regular season matchup during the 2001-02 season.
- Morgan State closed the 2024-25 season with a 14-18 record and a 7-7 mark in MEAC action.
- Morgan State is led by Head Coach Kevin Broadus, who enters his seventh season in the role. Broadus previously was part of the Hoya coaching staff for a total of nine years over two stints.
- This will beCooley's first meeting against Morgan State in his career.
GAME 2: at Maryland | Friday, November 7, 2025 | XFINITY Center (College Park, Md.)
- The Hoyas and the Terrapins will meet for the 68th time in program history with GU holding a 29-38 record dating back to the 1907-08 season. The last meeting was a 76-75 setback during the 2016-17 season.
- Maryland went 27-9 during the 2024-25 season with a 14-6 mark in Big Ten play. The Terps advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 before falling to eventual NCAA Champion Florida.
- The 2025-26 season marks the inaugural season for Head Coach Buzz Williams.
- Cooley has faced Maryland twice in his career, falling twice to the Terps. He holds a 1-3 record against Williams all from their time at previous institutions in Providence and Marquette, respectively.
GAME 3: Binghamton | Wednesday, November 12, 2025 | Capital One Arena
- Georgetown will face Binghamton for the first time in program history.
- Binghamton went 15-17 during the 2024-25 campaign with a 7-9 mark in America East play.
- Head Coach Levell Sanders is in his fifth season with the Bearcats.
- Cooley has faced Binghamton once previously and owns a 1-0 record.
GAME 4: Clemson | Saturday, November 15, 2025 | Capital One Arena
- Georgetown and Clemson will meet for the second time in program history with the Hoyas owning a 1-0 advantage following a 75-60 neutral site win at the Outrigger Rainbow Classic played at the Stan Sherif Center in Honolulu, Hawaii
- Clemson closed the 2024-25 season with a 27-7 record, including a 18-2 mark in ACC play.
- The 2025-26 season marks the 16th season for Head Coach Brad Brownell.
- This will be Cooley's first meeting against Clemson as a head coach.
GAME 5: Wagner | Saturday, November 22, 2025 | Capital One Arena
- Georgetown boasts a 3-0 record all-time against Wagner, dating back to the 1977-78 season. The last meeting was a 66-41 win last season on November 26.
- Wagner wrapped up its 2024-25 season with a 14-16 overall record and a 6-10 mark in Northeast Conference play.
- Head Coach Donald Copeland returns to lead the Seahawks in his fourth season with Wagner.
- Cooley is 2-0 against Wagner and holds a 1-0 record against Copeland.
GAMES 6 & 7: 2025 Terry's Chocolate ESPN Events Invitational | Thursday & Friday, November 27-28, 2025 | State Farm Field House (Kissimmee, Fla.)
- Georgetown has been announced as part of the 2025 Terry's Chocolate ESPN Events Invitational, a 16-team, three-bracket event set for Thanksgiving week. The Hoyas were announced as part of the MAGIC BRACKET that also includes BYU, Dayton and Miami.
- BYU reached its first NCAA Sweet 16 since 2011, posting a 26-10 record under first year head coach Kevin Young. With a 14-6 conference record, the Cougars finished tied for third in their debut season in the Big 12.
- The Hoyas are 1-0 against BYU with a matchup during the 1983-84 season that saw the Hoyas win 67-51 at home. Cooley has never faced BYU.
- Dayton reached the second round of the 2025 NIT, finishing with a 23-11 overall record and a 12-6 mark in Atlantic-10 play.
- Dayton graduate Anthony Grant is in his ninth year as head coach.
- Georgetown is 2-1 all-time against the Flyers with the last meeting coming in the Elite Eight of the 1984 NCAA Championship, a 61-49 win.

- This will be the eighth meeting between the Hoyas and Retrievers dating back to the 1986-87 season with GU owning a 7-0 record. The Blue & Gray secured an 86-62 win at Capital One Arena last season on December 2.
- UMBC went 13-19 during the 2024-25 season with a 5-11 mark in America East play.
- UMBC is led by Head Coach Jim Ferry, who enters his fifth season in the role with the Retrievers.
- This will be Cooley's second meeting against UMBC and Ferry following last season's win.
GAME 9: at North Carolina | Sunday, December 7, 2025 | Smith Center (Chapel Hill, N.C.)
- This will be the 10th meeting between the Hoyas and the Tar Heels with Georgetown owning the narrow 5-4 advantage in the series that dates back to the 1919-20 season. The last meeting was an overtime thriller in the 2007 NCAA Elite Eight that saw the Hoyas upend North Carolina 96-84 at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, New Jersey to advance to the Final Four in Atlanta.
- North Carolina went 23-14 during the 2024-25 season with a 13-7 mark in ACC action.
- The Tar Heels are led by Head Coach Hubert Davis who enters his fifth season as the head coach at his alma mater and his 14th on the coaching staff.
- Cooley is 0-2 against UNC, falling twice in the NCAA Tournament to the Tar Heels, falling in the 2014 First Round and the 2016 Second Round. It will be the first meeting between the two coaches.
GAME 10: Saint Peter's | Saturday, December 13, 2025 | McDonough Arena
- This will be the 21st meeting between the Hoyas and the Peacocks with Georgetown owning a 14-6 record in the series dating back to the 1953-54 season. In its most recent matchup, the Hoyas came away with a 64-49 win during the 1979-80 season.
- Saint Peter's went 12-16 during the 2024-25 season with a 7-13 mark in MAAC action.
- Head Coach Bashir Mason will be in his fourth season at the helm of the Peacock program for the 2025-26 season.
- In 13 outings, Cooley is 12-1 against the Peacocks and 1-0 against Mason from a 2016 matchup between the previous institution of each coach, Providence and Wagner, respectively.
GAME 11: Coppin State | Monday, December 22, 2025 | McDonough Arena
- Georgetown and Coppin State will meet for the seventh time in program history with the Hoyas holding a perfect 6-0 record since the first meeting in 2016. The most recent matchup was a season ago with the Hoyas taking the 85-53 victory.
- Coppin State finished the 2024-25 season with a 6-24 overall record and a 4-10 mark in MEAC play.
- The 2025-26 season will mark Head Coach Larry Stewart's third season at CSU.
- Cooley is 2-0 against Coppin State and Stewart following last season's matchup.
