Head Coach Brian Wiese
- "We purposely schedule road games like this that we know are going to be difficult. High Point is good, they're going to win a lot of games and we wanted this experience early. It was a hard-fought game, and we played extremely well in a lot of areas. When you have a schedule like we do, the margin for error is tight and we have to get the job done in both of the goal boxes to get the result. Credit to High Point, they had two great finishes on few shots, and I think they handled the box a little better than we did which was the difference in the game. But we generated a lot of chances and had opportunities. It's disappointing not the get the result, but when you are playing the type of schedule that we are, it comes with the territory."

- High Point got on the board in just the third minute of action as a shot from Daniel Lugo sailed into the top corner of the net to make it 1-0.

- Caron continued to be a wall for High Point as a number of good looks were saved.
- In the 88th minute, a missed bicycle in the box allowed the ball to fall to the feet of freshman Tim Logan who confidently fired it in to put the Blue & Gray on the board.
