WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University volleyball team defeated Loyola University Maryland, 3-2 (17-25, 25-21, 25-22, 23-25,15-12), on Friday Night at the Reitz Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. With the win, GU improves to 3-5 on the season while the Greyhounds slide to 2-5.

Hoya Highlights

• Maria Filippova and Samantha Soderlund led the Hoya attack with a team-high 11 kills apiece, while Kamryn Lee-Caracci and Katherine McGregor each chipped in 10 kills.
• Taylor Mercado and Lee-Caracci each notched a service ace.
• McGregor recorded nine blocks, which led the squad. Lee-Caracci closely followed with seven and Vaughan Anoa'i had six of her own.
• Juleigh Urbina paced the Hoya offense with 28 assists, followed by Natalie Nguyen with 16.
• Mercado led GU with a team-high 18 digs.
