Georgetown Men’s Basketball Returns to Capital One Arena to Host Seton Hall

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's basketball team returns home to host the Seton Hall University Pirates on Saturday night in the District. Tipoff in the Blue & Gray's downtown home is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Capital One Arena.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • In the last outing, Georgetown (9-6, 1-3 BE) fell to DePaul, 56-50, at Wintrust Arena. KJ Lewis was the lone Hoya in double figures with 18 points on five made buckets and eight made free throws. He also led GU on the glass, pulling down a squad-best seven rebounds. In his return to the lineup, Vince Iwuchukwu tallied a game-best four blocks on the night to go along with three steals, both matching his career highs.
  • For his efforts last week, Lewis earned his fourth nod to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday after his 27-point, 3-steal outing against St. John's
  • A quartet of Hoyas are scoring in double figures led by Lewis who is tallying 15.4 ppg, while Mack averages 14.4 ppg, Julius Halaifonua adds 11.4 ppg and Caleb Williams notches 10.4 ppg. Lewis' 15.4 ppg ranks ninth in the BIG EAST conference.
  • C. Williams leads the Hoyas on the glass grabbing 5.8 rpg, followed by Lewis (5.7 rpg) and Halaifonua (4.9 rpg).
  • Mack paces the offense with 4.5 apg, which ranks fourth in the league, followed by Lewis who averages 2.9 apg.
  • Lewis ranks second in the BIG EAST and leads the Hoyas in strips with 2.1 spg.
  • Before the start of the 2025-26 season, Lewis was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Second Team and Mack was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Third Team. The Hoyas were also selected sixth in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll in Head Coach Ed Cooley's third season at the helm.
 
ABOUT THE PIRATES
  • Seton Hall enters the matchup with a 13-2 start to the 2025-26 season, including a 3-1 mark in BIG EAST play.
  • Seton Hall went 7-25 during the 2024-25 season with a 2-18 mark in the conference.
  • In its last outing, Seton Hall defeated Creighton on January 4 at Prudential Center, 56-54. Elijah Fisher led the Pirates in scoring in double figures with 10 points, followed by Trey Parker, who chipped in nine. Najai Hines led the Pirates on the glass with nine rebounds, and Parker paced the offense with three assists.
  • AJ Staton-McCray leads Seton Hall in scoring, averaging 12.8 ppg, followed by Tajuanu Simpkins (10.7 ppg) and Adam Clark (9.7 ppg).

  • Clark's 5.2 apg paces Seton Hall's offense while his 2.3 spg leads the squad and the BIG EAST.

  • Georgetown and Seton Hall will meet for the 123rd time in program history, with the Hoyas holding a 63-59 record in the series.
  • The last meeting between the two teams was February 8, 2025 with the Blue & Gray grabbing a 60-46 win at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. Micah Peavy, now with the New Orleans Pelicans, led a trio of Hoyas in double figures with 22 points on 10-for-20 shooting, adding seven rebounds and four assists. Thomas Sorber, now with the defending NBA Champions Oklahoma City Thunder, recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. C. Williams rounded out the Hoyas in double figures adding an efficient 12 points on 4-for-5 shooting.
