Hoyas Narrowly Drop Contest to Holy Cross on Senior Day

WASHINGTON –  The Georgetown University football team fell to the Holy Cross Crusaders, 27-24, on Saturday afternoon at Cooper Field. With the loss in Washington, D.C., the Hoyas slip to 3-5 and 3-3 in league action while the Crusaders improve to 5-5 and 5-2 in the Patriot League.

ON THE RECORD

"Coming into today, I told the recruits who were here that this is one of my favorite parts of the season, when we get to honor our seniors, and I still stand by that. Our guys did an amazing job on the field for about 56 minutes of the game. I give Holy Cross a lot of credit for battling back and finding a way to win in the end. There are a lot of things we can improve on as we prepare to head up to the Bronx and play for the win. I'm very proud of the journey our senior class has taken, along with the rest of our team and staff. We look forward to learning from this loss and getting better moving forward." - Head Coach Rob Sgarlata
