WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University softball team needed extra innings, but managed a midweek nonconference victory against the George Washington Revolutionaries, 5-4, on Wednesday afternoon at the GW Softball Complex. With the win, the Hoyas improve to 6-5 on the season while GW drops to 11-7 on the year.

How it Happened
- The Hoyas struck early as Park sent Brooke Rebhan across the plate with bases loaded before Emily Strittmatter scored on a passed ball to make it 2-0 in the first inning.
- GW cut it to one in the second inning, but a two-run homer over the center field wall by Dayanara Campos put GU on top 4-1 in the third.
- The Revolutionaries would score two in the bottom of the inning, and a fifth-inning single knotted the contest at four resulting in extra innings.
- In the top of the 10th with the international tiebreaker in play, Devyn Johnson's two-out single allowed Park to score as the Hoyas took the 5-4 lead.
- Egbert was fantastic through the final 15 at-bats in the contest as she didn't allow a hit and struck out three to pick up the victory.
Of Note
- Campos' homer was her second of the season and the 22nd of her career ranking her fourth on the all-time list.
- The contest marked GU's second game that required extra innings this season.
