How it Happened

  • DePaul managed six runs in the second and third to take the lead.

  • In the top of the seventh, a sac fly from Turner allowed Sarlo as the tying run to come home.
  • DePaul did not find the winning run in the bottom of the inning as Larson had two strikeouts and the game headed into extra innings.
  • It was Turner again in the top of the eighth who sent a single to the outfield as Taylor Francis scored for the go-ahead run.
  • The defense battled to the final out, but with bases loaded a walk off single allowed the tying and winning run across the plate as the Hoyas fell 8-7.
