WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University softball team split a midweek doubleheader against the Lafayette College Leopards on Wednesday afternoon at the Mount Vernon Softball Complex in Washington, D.C. GU won the first game 9-3, but fell in eight innings in the second, 4-2. With the result, the Hoyas move to 8-8 on the season, while the Leopards sit at 7-19.

Hoya Highlights
- Devyn Johnson was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBI and a run scored
- Emily Strittmatter had a day going 3-for-4 with three runs scored.
- Brooke Rebhan went 2-for-3, and recorded three RBI as well as three runs scored with a double and a homer to her credit.
- Dayanara Campos was 1-for-3 at the plate with a run scored as well as two RBI on her home run.
- Emily Collins pitched six innings in the circle with one strikeout to get the win, while Allison Lui was credited with the save.
How it Happened
- Lafayette struck in the top of the first with two quick runs.
- The Hoyas tied it up in the bottom of the second when a Rebhan double to left field allowed Strittmatter to cross the plate. On the ensuing at bat, Johnson's single up the middle brought Rebhan home to knot the contest at two.
- In the bottom of the fourth, Johnson's single with two players on brought Strittmatter home and gave GU momentum as a single from Taylor Francis put Rebhan across the plate, and then Johnson came home in the next at bat.
- In the next inning, Rebhan knocked one out of the park for a two-run homer as GU led 7-2.
- The Hoyas weren't done yet, however, as Campos hit a two-run shot of her own in the sixth to put the Blue & Gray ahead by seven.
- Lafayette managed a run in the top of the seventh, but GU got the third out for the 9-3 victory.

Hoya Highlights
- Rebhan went 2-for-3, and recorded an RBI.
- Claire Turner managed a 1-for-4 performance with one RBI to her credit.
- Marina Egbert took the loss in the circle with four strikeouts on the afternoon.
How it Happened
- Lafayette scored in the top of the second to take a 1-0 lead.
- The Hoyas tied it up in the bottom of the fourth after a single to left center by Abby Kozo put her on base, and a single by Rebhan eventually brought Kozo home.
- The Leopards knocked out a solo homer in the top of the seventh to take the lead, but the Hoyas battled back in the bottom of the inning.
- With two runners on, Turner singled through the left side allowing Gabby Park to scamper home and tie it up at two which forced extra innings.
- Lafayette found the answer in the top of the eighth with two runs, and Georgetown was unable to answer as the Hoyas fell 4-2.
