Hoya Comeback Falls Short Against St. John’s

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University softball team put together a late comeback, but fell short 5-3 against the St. John's University Red Storm in a BIG EAST Conference matchup on Friday afternoon at the Mount Vernon Softball Complex in Washington, D.C. With the result, the Hoyas move to 8-9 on the season and 1-3 in league play, while the Red Storm sits at 21-8 and 2-2 in the conference.
 
Hoya Highlights How it Happened
  • The Red Storm jumped out to a 5-0 lead with runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings.
  • GU got on the board in the bottom of the fifth when Rebhan got on base on an error, and eventually crossed home on a single from Park.
  • In the next inning, Turner started it out with a single and eventually crossed the plate three batters later on a Strittmatter fielder's choice.
  • On the next at bat, Rebhan connected for a double as Abby Kozo scored, making it 5-3 which would stand as the final.
