WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University softball team lost a close one, 6-5, to the St. John's University Red Storm in the final game of a a BIG EAST Conference series on Sunday afternoon at the Mount Vernon Softball Complex in Washington, D.C. With the loss, the Hoyas drop to 9-10 on the season and 2-4 in league play, while the Red Storm sits at 22-9 and 3-3 in the conference.

How it Happened
- The Red Storm put up three runs in the top of the first, but the Hoyas responded in the bottom of the inning.
- Sarlo and Brooke Rebhan both singled to get on base, before a double by Strittmatter allowed both runners to cross the plate.
- The squads continued to match each other in the innings as St. John's added one in the top of the third.
- Georgetown tied it up in the bottom of the inning off of a Campos homer and a single from Johnson to bring Strittmatter home making it 4-4.
- Both teams managed a run in the fourth, as Claire Turner was credited with the RBI off of her sacrifice fly.
- The difference came in the top of the sixth when St. John's managed to bring one more home.
- Georgetown had runners on in both the sixth and seventh, but could not find the tying run to fall 6-5.
Of Note
- Campos' home run was the 27th of her career, placing her third on GU's all-time list and just three away from breaking the record.
