Lewis Named All-BIG EAST Third Team

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's KJ Lewis was named to the All-BIG EAST Third Team, as announced by the league office in New York on Sunday. The announcement comes at the conclusion of the regular season that saw the team finish with an overall record of 14-17 with a 6-14 mark in BIG EAST play. The Hoyas will be the 11th seed in the upcoming 2026 BIG EAST Tournament presented by Jeep.

  • KJ Lewis is coming off a junior season where he appeared in 28 games, making 27 starts. Lewis averaged 29.9 minutes.
  • The El Paso, Texas native led the squad in scoring averaging 14.9 points per game and managed 5.1 rebounds per game in his first season with the Hoyas.
  • At the end of the regular season, Lewis finished ranked eighth in the BIG EAST in scoring, second in steals with 2.1 per game and 10th in free throw percentage at 75.2%.
  • Despite suffering a season-ending injury against Marquette on February 24, Lewis had his best collegiate season yet with 416 points and 59 steals. His 59 steals ranks 23rd all-time in program history.
  • Lewis scored in double figures 24 times and reached a career-best 10 rebounds for the first double-double of his collegiate career.
  • The junior was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll five times this season.
  • In the game against St. John's on December 31, Lewis tallied a career-high 27 points in the contest on 44.4% (8-18) shooting from the field and a perfect 10-for-10 performance from the charity stripe.
  • Lewis is the first Hoya since Thomas Sorber (2024-25) to be named to the Third Team and this is the 19th recognition in program history.
 
 
UP NEXT
Georgetown returns to action on Wednesday, March 11 in the BIG EAST Tournament, held March 11-14 at Madison Square Garden in New York. The Hoyas have earned the #11 seed in the tournament and will face sixth-seeded DePaul in the first round. Tipoff at the World's Most Famous Arena is scheduled for 9 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on Peacock with John Fanta calling the play-by-play, Donny Marshall providing analysis and Caroline Pineda reporting from the sidelines. The game can be heard locally on a station to be determined later as well as on the SiriusXM app with Rich Chvotkin, in his 52nd season as the Voice of the Hoyas, calling the action.
