WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team fell to the UConn Huskies 3-2 on Sunday afternoon at Capital One Park. With the loss in Tysons, Virginia the Hoyas slip to 22-22 on the season and 4-8 in conference play while the Huskies move to 25-20 and 10-5 in league action.
ON THE RECORD
"I? was really proud of our guys today after two very difficult games. Our guys come back out and really played a full nine-inning baseball game against a good program, a good team. Just unfortunately fell a little bit short. Our amazing pitching just did a great job. Kai Leckszas, Trajan Lee, Ethan Rucker, Griffin O'Connor and then Luke Jackman gave us a chance there and just, you know, we didn't get enough offensively going. A lot of that due to their pitcher. Their guy did a good job keeping us off balance, and, you know, unfortunately, they swept us, which is the first time that's happened all year. You know, we don't like the feeling, so we'll have to regroup and get ready to come back on Tuesday against a really good Maryland team that's playing good baseball right now." - Head Coach Edwin Thompson
