Hoyas Compete at Scarlet Knight Classic

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University softball team lost a pair of contests at the Scarlet Knight Classic in Piscataway, New Jersey on Sunday. The games were moved to Sunday due to inclement weather in the region. The Hoyas fell 8-6 to Lehigh in the first game, before dropping a 9-1 decision to host Rutgers in the second contest. With the results, the Blue & Gray completed nonconference play and moved to 15-21 on the year.

How it Happened

  • In the next inning, Park's triple to right allowed Turner to run home, and a Strittmatter double brought Park home again as the Hoyas had the 6-3 advantage.
  • The Mountain Hawks answered with home runs in the fifth and sixth innings to regain the lead and eventually take the game, 8-6.
