WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team fell to the Villanova University Wildcats 11-7 on Friday night at Capital One Park. With the loss in Tysons, Virginia the Hoyas slip to 22-24 overall and 4-9 in conference play while the Wildcats move to 15-25 on the season and 2-11 in league action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Georgetown opened the scoring in the bottom of the first as Peek singled through the left side to bring home Solomon for a 1-0 lead.
- Villanova answered in the top of the second with a sacrifice fly to tie it, but the Hoyas responded in the bottom half as Price launched a three-run homer to make it 4-1.
- The Wildcats chipped away in the top of the third with a run on an error and a sacrifice fly, but Georgetown countered in the bottom half with an RBI single from Sheffield to keep the lead at 5-3.
- Villanova closed the gap in the top of the seventh with a solo homer, before Georgetown answered in the bottom half as Sheffield doubled in a run and Gilio followed with an RBI triple to extend the lead to 7-4.
- The Wildcats rallied in the top of the eighth with an RBI single and a two-RBI double to tie the game at 7-7.
- Villanova took control in the top of the ninth, using a solo homer, a run on a wild pitch and two RBI singles to score four runs and secure the 11-7 win.
