WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team defeated the Seton Hall University Pirates 7-2 on Saturday afternoon at Capital One Park. With the win in Tysons, Virginia the Hoyas end the season with a 28-28 record overall and 9-12 in BIG EAST play while the Pirates move to 16-30 on the year and 3-18 in league action.
ON THE RECORD
"Today was really special for our seniors and everyone in our organization. To win this series and take five of our last seven BIG EAST games down the stretch says a lot about this group. I thought JT Raab was unbelievable today. What he gave us over seven innings was really special, and the 13 strikeouts being a career high made it even more impressive. I also thought our entire lineup did a great job. Every senior in the starting lineup recorded a hit, and Brett Blair had a huge day offensively with the two-run home run and another two-run RBI. This senior class has had an amazing impact on our program, and those 19 guys are going to be missed tremendously. I'm also really grateful for our fans and everyone who supported us all season long. While we fell a little short of where we wanted to be heading into next week, there's still a lot to be proud of. Winning 28 games, the fifth-most in program history, and finishing .500 or better in four of the last five seasons says a lot about the direction of this program and the character of this team. Now it's about resetting, learning from this year and continuing to build toward where we want to go long term."- Head Coach Edwin Thompson
