Opler Named to Women’s Rowing Academic All-Patriot League Team

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University women's openweight rowing junior Phoebe Opler has been named to the 2026 Women's Rowing Academic All-Patriot League Team, as announced by the league office on Thursday.

Opler, a native of Wilson, Wyoming, received the academic honor for her exceptional performance in the classroom and on the water. To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (GPA), have completed at least one academic year at their institution, and be a starter or key contributor to their squad.

In the classroom, the junior environment & sustainability major boasts an exceptional 3.90 cumulative GPA, including a perfect 4.00 semester during the Spring of 2026.
Beyond her academic and athletic commitments, Opler is heavily involved in environmental advocacy. She serves as the Head of Sales for Georgetown ReUse, a campus organization that collects items throughout the year for resale and promotes sustainability initiatives, including local park revitalization and environmental justice efforts. She also completed a summer internship with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in Greece in 2025 before continuing with a year-long internship with the organization in Washington, D.C., for the 2025-26 academic year.

On the water, Opler expertly coxed the Second Varsity Eight boat through a successful spring campaign, culminating in a fourth-place finish in the 2V8 Grand Final at the Patriot League Championships. Her championship season was also highlighted by leading the 2V8 crew to a silver-medal performance for the Coleman D. Boylan Trophy at the 87th annual Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta on the Cooper River.
