2021: BIG EAST Champions … USILA Honorable Mention All-American … First Team All-BIG EAST (unanimous selection) … Played in all 16 games for the Hoyas … Credited with 16 caused turnovers and 32 ground balls on the year … Key part of the Georgetown defense that led the NCAA in scoring defense (8.31) and man-down defense (0.829) … Scored goals against St. John’s (2/27) and No. 6 Denver (4/17) … Had three caused turnovers at No. 16 Villanova (2/21) and at Mount St. Mary’s (3/2) to go with seven ground balls … Named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team.
2020: Played in all six games as a sophomore, transitioning from close defense to the top line long stick midfielder … Collected 22 ground balls and credited with four caused turnovers on the season … Scored two goals and added an assist on the year … Hauled in six ground ball at UMBC (2/15) … Collected five ground balls and scored the game-winning goal at Lafayette (2/8) in the season opener … Added a goal and an assist against Fairfield (2/22) … Key part of the Georgetown defense that led the NCAA in scoring defense (6.33) and scoring margin (10.17) while ranking second overall in clearing (.934) … The Hoya defense allowed just one team to score more than 10 goals on the season and held opponents to under five goals three different times … Named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team … Season shortened because of COVID-19.

Prior to Georgetown: Three-year letterwinner and starter at Ward Melville … 2018 Under Armour All-American … 2018 first team all-Long Island, all-county and 2018 Suffolk County Division 1 Defenseman of the Year … 2017 All-Metro and all-county … Ward Melville won Long Island Class A and Suffolk County Championships from 2016-18 … 2018 and 2017 New York State Class A Champions, allowing only two goals in the NYS Class A Championship game … Also played basketball at Ward Melville.
Personal: Son of Barbara and Ken Mazzone … Has three older brothers, Kenny, Will and Christian, as well as an older sister Kristina … Brother, Christian, is a member of Archers LC of the Premier Lacrosse League.
