WBB Angel Tree
Salvation Army's Angel Tree
The women's basketball team has participated in the Salvation Army's Angel Tree program multiple times. Each year, the Salvation Army National Capital Area Command assists thousands of parents in the region with providing their families a wonderful holiday through the Angel Tree program. In order to qualify for assistance, applicants must be in need due to an emergency financial hardship, underemployment or unemployment. The team has helped organize presents as well as aiding the recipients with transporting the gifts and wrapping paper to their vehicles. The result is a memorable holiday for many children who might otherwise not have one.

WBB Lights of Hope Lights of Hope Across America
The women's basketball team helped make the American Cancer Society's 2019 Lights of Hope event a success by spending an afternoon lining up paper bags. This seemingly small act resulted in an incredible display of hope featuring more than 40,000 Lights of Hope in front of the Lincoln Memorial and surrounding the Washington Monument Reflecting Pool. Each bag represents someone who has been touched by cancer or recognizing those who have been lost to the disease.
