2021: Appeared in six games out of the bullpen… Recorded one strikeout and a 3.86 ERA in 4.2 frames of work… Allowed no hits and earned runs in his final three outings against Xavier (5/14), George Washington (5/18) and Butler (5/22) … Member of BIG EAST All-Academic Team.
 
2020: Made four relief appearances… Struck out six batters in five innings of work… Allowed one earned run or less in all four outings… Season cut short by COVID-19.

Prior to Georgetown: Gates joined the Georgetown baseball in the fall of 2019 … Was a four-year starter and a three-year captain at Saint Francis High School … Father, Todd, played baseball at Santa Clara and his brother, Michael, played soccer at Santa Clara … Cousin, Molly, plays women’s lacrosse at Notre Dame and cousin, Jack, plays baseball at the University of Puget Sound.
