Biography

Nick Collins joined the Georgetown coaching staff in July 2017. He will serve as the team's volunteer assistant coach while he completes his degree in business management from the McDonough School of Business.

Following his junior year at Georgetown, Collins was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the eighth round of the 2015 Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft, becoming the third-highest draft pick in GU baseball's history. Collins played two years in the Athletics' organization, reaching as high as low-A. He was named the starting catcher for the North Division in the New York-Penn League All-Star Game during his first season.

Collins was named Georgetown's first BIG EAST Player of the Year in 2015 after leading the Hoyas in multiple offensive categories. He finished the season with a .370 batting average, 78 hits and 36 RBI, while leading the conference with seven home runs, 114 total bases and a .540 slugging percentage and was among the leaders in RBI, on-base percentage, doubles and runs scored.

He finished his career on the Hilltop ranked among Georgetown's career leaders in batting average (.352), hits (203) and sacrifice flies (10). In just three seasons, he became the 10th member of the 200-hit club and the 18th member of the 100-RBI club.
