Alex Zanfardino joined the Georgetown University football staff in August 2016. He works with the team's linebacker corps.
In 2019, the Hoyas were dominant from the linebacker position as three members of the group were among the top five on the team in tackles, and five were among the top 10. GU’s linebackers also registered 10 sacks and 32.5 TFL.
Georgetown’s linebackers accounted for 30 percent of the team’s tackles in 2017, before improving to 47 percent of the tackles in 2018. The group also registered eight interceptions, 17 sacks and 35.5 TFL, increasing its output by more than 30 TFL from the season before.
In his first season on the Hilltop in 2016, Zanfardino served as Georgetown's assistant recruiting coordinator, while also helping with all football operations.
A native of New York City, Zanfardino graduated from Clemson University in December 2015 with a degree in political science. He is currently enrolled in Georgetown University's School of Continuing Studies, working toward a graduate degree in sports industry management.
