Prior to Georgetown:

Johnson attended Brighton High School in Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
The quarterback started during his sophomore, junior and senior seasons and was named captain as a junior and senior.
In 2021 and 2022, he helped his team to a Region Six championship.
As a sophomore and junior, Johnson was named offensive MVP and as a senior, he earned the MVP award.
During his three seasons as a starter, Johnson earned All-Region First-Team honors.
Johnson set the Brighton High School record in total passing yards (7,909), touchdowns (84) and total yards in a game. In addition to football, Johnson played baseball and was named All-Region Second Team as a junior.
