Michael Leonard

Michael Leonard joined the Georgetown men’s basketball staff in June 2017.
 
Previously, Leonard was at Towson University serving as head athletic trainer, overseeing men’s basketball and men’s golf.
 
Leonard joined Towson from St. Paul’s College in Lawrenceville, Virginia, where he was head athletics trainer since 2009. While at St. Paul’s, he was responsible for providing athletic training care and rehabilitation for 13 Division II programs. He also handled all administrative components for the sports medicine division.
 
Leonard received his Masters of Science in athletic training in 2009 and his Bachelor of Science in exercise and sports science in 2007 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
 
While at UNCG, Leonard also served as a research assistant, examining the risk factors for ACL injuries in the Applied Neuromechanics Research Laboratory during his undergraduate and graduate studies at UNCG, resulting in subsequent publications. He specializes in movement and injury prevention and holds certifications in Functional Movement Screening, SFMA and Graston Technique.
 
Leonard resides in Catonsville, Maryland with his wife, Nicole, and son, Christian.
