Greg Collucci

Greg Collucci enters his first season in the role of General Manager on Head Coach Ed Cooley’s staff. Collucci has spent a career in basketball following a four-year playing career at George Washington University.

Collucci arrives on the Hilltop following a nine-year stint with the NBA, most recently as the NBA’s elite basketball and player development pathways lead. His work was focused on the NBA Academy, a year-round elite basketball development initiative that provides top high school-age prospects from outside the United States with a holistic approach to player development and a predictable pathway to maximize their potential. The NBA Academy program has had locations across Australia, China, India, Mexico and Senegal for top prospects from their respective countries and continents.

Collucci’s work supporting the NBA’s global development started in 2016 and developed into what is now known as the NBA Academy and its own flagship NCAA recruiting event called the NBA Academy Games. In addition, he helped the academy student-athletes gain additional exposure at events such as the National Prep School Invitational and the Tarkanian Classic. He was involved in the first days of the NBA Academy and saw it expand across the globe.

Collucci landed in his role with the NBA following a career on the sidelines, most recently spending two seasons (2014-16) at Central Connecticut State as an assistant coach.

Prior to his time in New Britain, he spent a year on the staff at American University. AU won the Patriot League Tournament Championship in 2014 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. They finished the season with a 20-13 overall record including a win over Boston University in the tournament championship.

Prior to his stint at American, Collucci spent five seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater, George Washington. He spent 11 total seasons at George Washington, including four as a player and two additional years on staff prior to becoming an assistant coach.

At GW, Collucci was promoted to assistant coach prior to the 2006-07 season and helped George Washington to its second Atlantic 10 tournament title in three years. This marked GW’s third-straight appearance in the NCAA tournament.

GW made the NCAA Tournament in 2005, 2006 and 2007 while Collucci was on staff, achieving its highest national ranking in more than 50 years during the 2006 season. In addition, GW captured back-to-back Atlantic 10 conference titles during Collucci's first two seasons on staff.

Collucci is a 2004 graduate of GW with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing. He is a native of West Palm Beach, Florida.  He averaged 5.5 points (623 career points) including 160 career three-pointers as a player at GW.

Collucci and his wife, Amy, have two children.
