2019: Earned All-BIG EAST Second Team honors … Appeared in 15 games, making 12 starts as a senior … Finished the season with a 4-5 record and a team leading 3.06 ERA, recording a team-high 87 strikeouts over 79.1 innings pitched … Set Georgetown’s single game strikeout record with 16 against Mount St. Mary’s (3/5)… Set GU career record of 236 strikeouts in final game versus Butler (5/17) … Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll (3/12, 4/15) … Member of BIG EAST All-Academic Team.

2018: Appeared in 16 games, with 11 starts, on the mound as a junior … Finished the season with a 2-6 record and a 6.79 ERA … Recorded 43 strikeouts in 63.2 innings pitched ... Had a season-high six strikeouts in 6.0 innings pitched at George Washington (Feb. 27) … Pitched 7.0 innings in a win over George Mason (April 13) … Named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team.

2017: Made 14 starts on the mound as a junior … Finished with a 6-6 record and a 4.80 ERA in 84.1 innings pitched … Tied for the team lead with six wins and was second with 79 strikeouts … Had nine starts of at least 6.0 innings, including a season-high 7.2 innings at Gardner-Webb (3/18) … Had five games with at least seven strikeouts, including a season-high nine on two occasions at Brown (3/25) and vs. NYIT (4/8) … Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll (4/10).

2016: Appeared in 17 games on the mound, making nine starts ... Finished with a 3-5 record to go with a 4.58 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 57.0 innings pitched ... Threw a season-high 6.2 innings on March 22 at George Washington ... Registered a season-high four strikeouts on four different occasions ... Picked up the win after pitching six shutout innings with four strikeouts in his first-career start on March 1 against UMBC.

Prior to Georgetown: Cushing played three years of varsity baseball at Marcus High School, serving as the team captain his senior year … In 2015, Cushing went 6-2 with a 0.73 ERA on his way to being named the District 6-6A Pitcher of the Year, to the Texas Sports Writer’s Association Class 6-A All-State Team and the Dallas Morning News All-Area Team … He had nine wins as a junior and was named to the District 5-5A All-District First Team … In his high school’s record books, Cushing ranks first in career shutouts and no hitters, second in wins and innings pitched and third in complete games … He helped Marcus to an 85-26 record during his three seasons, including setting the program record for wins (32) in both 2013 and 2014 … Cushing was also a two-year member of the varsity football team.
