2020: Inside Lacrosse First Team Media All-American … Named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List … Led the NCAA if goals-against average (6.21) and save percentage (.689) … Posted a 6-0 record between the pipes and averaged 9.67 saves per game … Named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week once … Collected 14 saves against Fairfield (2/22) and Bellarmine (2/29) … Also had nine saves in three other games … Collected 12 ground balls and had a pair of caused turnovers on the season … Anchor of the Georgetown defense that led the NCAA in scoring defense (6.33) and scoring margin (10.17) while ranking second overall in clearing (.934) … The Hoya defense allowed just one team to score more than 10 goals on the season and held opponents to under five goals three different times … Season shortened because of COVID-19.

2019: BIG EAST Champions … Played in and started 16 games as a sophomore … Posted a .517 save percentage with an 11.59 goals-against average … Won 10 games between the pipes … Collected 171 saves on the year, pulling in at least 10 saves in 11 games … Had 16 saves in the season opener against Sacred Heart (2/9) … Added 15 saves against Robert Morris (2/16), No. 9 Denver (3/30), No. 2 Loyola (4/9) and No. 16 Villanova (4/14) … Named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week (3/11) … Hauled in 35 ground balls and was credited with four caused turnovers … Had an assist against Robert Morris (2/16).

2018: BIG EAST Champions … Played in four games as a freshman … Saw action against High Point (2/13), Mount St. Mary’s (2/27), Marist (3/6) and NJIT (4/21) … Logged 12:11 minutes between the pipes … Posted a 4.92 goals-against average to go with four saves and an .800 save percentage … Collected three saves against NJIT (4/21).

Prior to Georgetown: Played two seasons at Ridgewood and three seasons at Avon Old Farms … Named all-league and Western New England Goalie of the Year in 2017 … Named US Lacrosse All-American in 2017 and an Under Armour Underclass All-American in 2015 and 2016 … Named to All-Tournament team of 2016 Under Armour All-American Underclass tournament … New Jersey squad won the 2016 Under Armour Underclass tournament championship … Ranked the No. 12 incoming goalie in the nation by Inside Lacrosse … Helped Avon Old Farms to a Western New England Championship in 2015 and Founder’s League Championships in 2015 and 2017 … Team captain at Avon Old Farms in 2017 … Posted a 61 percent save percentage at Avon Old Farms, hauling in 318 total saves … Also wrestled and played football … Played club lacrosse with Leading Edge for Chris Roy.

Personal: Son of John and Bronwyn McElroy … Grandfather, Joseph, and father, John, both attended Georgetown … Father also played lacrosse for the Hoyas … Older sister, Bridget, graduated from Georgetown … Has a younger brother, Stuart.
