2017-18: Helped the Blue & Gray to a first-place finish in the DMR at the UCS Invitational … Won the 800-meter at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships … Part of the All-America DMR squad at the NCAA Indoor Championships … Recorded a PR of 1:48.04 in the 800-meter run at the Virginia Challenge, good enough for a second-place finish … Part of the winning 4x400-meter squad at Penn Relays, claiming the Eastern finals … Competing in his first BIG EAST Outdoor Championships, advanced to the finals of the 1,500-meter run  with a PR in the prelims … Made it to the podium as a part of the third-place 4x400-meter foursome at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships … Advanced to the second round of the men’s 800-meter run at the NCAA East Prelims … Made the squad for Team USA as he finished second in the 800-meter run at the USA Junior Track & Field Championships … Was one of two Hoyas, along with classmate Ruach Padhal, to compete at the IAAF World U-20 Championships … Competing for Team USA, closed the season by advancing to the semifinals of the 800-meter run at the IAAF World U-20 Championships.

Prior to Georgetown: Rey Rivera finished second in the 800-meter run at the 2017 New Balance Indoor Nationals, earning All-America honors ... A two-time New Jersey MOC indoor 800m champion ... Two-time New Jersey MOC outdoor 800-meter champion ... Ranked No. 4 in the United States all-time in the indoor 800-meter run for a junior.
