Rod Koborsi is beginning his second season on the Georgetown coaching staff, having been elevated to an assistant coach, after spending last season as an volunteer assistant coach.

An eight-time All-American and three-event school record holder, Koborsi ended his collegiate career as one of the greatest distance runners in Georgetown history. As a senior, he added the final two All-American honors, being part of the Hoyas[apos] distance medley relay squad at the NCAA Indoor Championship and placing seventh in the 10,000m at the outdoor championship. Koborsi also won his fifth BIG EAST title, crossing first in the 10,000m in 2006.

During the spring of 2006, he left his mark on the Georgetown record books, breaking the school[apos]s outdoor records in both the 5,000m and 10,000m. Later in the summer, while beginning his professional career, Koborsi set school and personal records in the 3,000m (7:48.4) and 5,000m (13:26.65), while over in Europe.

A 2005 graduate of the Robert Emmett McDonough School of Business, Koborsi is currently completing his graduate degree at Georgetown in Liberal Studies with a focus in International Affairs.
