Nick Williams was named the associate head coach in 2018 after spending five seasons as an assistant on the Hilltop.
This past season, Williams helped the Hoyas finish 12-7 earning the program's 15th NCAA Tournament berth. The Hoyas were the No. 2 seed in the BIG EAST Championship and appeared in the semifinals before falling to Denver. Georgetown had five All-BIG EAST honorees as well as one player named Second Team All-South Region by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coach's Association (IWLCA).
In his five seasons as an assistant, the team has gone 45-46 with a mark of 31-8 in BIG EAST Conference play as well as earning one BIG EAST Regular Season Championship. He has coached seven all-region honorees as well as 26 All-BIG EAST selections and one BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year.
Williams came to Georgetown after serving as an assistant coach at the University of Florida. At Florida, Williams was the defensive coordinator for one season. Williams was involved in all day-to-day activities of the team including scouting, practice planning, film and working with the Florida Lacrosse Summer Camp. He was also instrumental in recruiting. With Williams, the Gators went 18-3 and appeared in the NCAA Tournament. In 2013, he coached the top four award winners in the conference as well as five All-America honorees.
Williams served two seasons (2010-12) as an assistant coach for the Notre Dame women's lacrosse team and was instrumental with overseeing team defense and team goalkeepers, while also assisting with recruiting, scouting opponents and camps and clinics.
In two seasons with UND, Williams helped compile a 23-15 record as he worked directly with many goalies and defenders who brought in national awards. The Irish were eighth in the country in caused turnovers and 34th in scoring defense in 2012. They finished with a 13-4 record and were eliminated by eventual national champion Northwestern in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
Prior to Notre Dame, he spent a season working with women's lacrosse at his alma mater, Towson, where he was a two-sport athlete in men's lacrosse and football. During his lone season at Towson, Williams helped the women's team to a 13-3 overall record, a first-ever at-large selection to the NCAA Tournament and a final ranking of No. 7 in the nation, the highest ranking in school history. Assisting with both the offense and defense, he helped coach the 2010 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Year, three First Team All-CAA picks, two second team nods and two all-rookie selections.
As a four-year member of the Tigers men's lacrosse team, Williams played 61 career games and helped Towson to a pair of CAA championships. He scored 29 goals with 22 assists in his career, including a career-best four-goal game against Cornell in the 2005 NCAA Tournament. Williams graduated in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in sports management.
The Baltimore, Maryland, native also was a football standout at Towson and ended his career as the fifth-leading rusher in school history with 1,985 yards. As a sophomore, Williams rushed for 911 yards in 11 games, including a career-high 169 yards in a win over Delaware. He was a Third Team All-Atlantic 10 selection at running back following his sophomore year.
Additionally, Williams spent time as the assistant coach of women's lacrosse at Pomona College in Claremont, California, during the spring of 2009. That previous fall he was the running backs coach at his high school alma mater - Calvert Hall College High School in Baltimore.
Williams completed his master's degree in sports industry management from Georgetown's School of Continuing Studies in 2017. He resides in Washington, D.C. with his wife Ryan.
