Mere Serea joined the Hoya volleyball staff in 2019. She comes to the Hilltop following a standout career at Maryland Eastern Shore, playing for Georgetown head coach Toby Rens with the Hawks.
Sitting out her first season in 2015 because of injury, Serea was a dominant force at the net as a junior and senior at UMES. She led the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference with 1.11 blocks per game in 2016 and posted a league-best 112 rejections in 2017.
Prior to her time at the Shore, Serea was a Junior College All-American at New Mexico Military Institute, leading the Broncos to NJCAA Nationals in 2014. A Suva, Fiji native, she was named the Sports Woman of the Year at Suva Grammar School before coming to the U.S.
