Georgetown fell to The University of Miami on Saturday by a score of 171-81. The loss drops the women's swimming and diving team's record to 2-5 on the season.

GU received several outstanding individual performances from its athletes. Freshman Lauren Moynihan (South Hadley, Mass./South Hadley) posted two third-place finishes in the meet as she swam the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 10:53.04 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:24.66. Erin Lenahan (Fr., Western Springs, Ill./St. Ignatius College Prep) touched the wall for second-place in the 50-yard freestyle (24.84), while sophomore Amanda Anderson (Denville, N.J./Morristown-Beard) finished second in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:52.82). The Hoyas' team of Lauren Schmidt (So, Somerset, N.J./Bishop George Ahr), Liz D'Auria (Fr., Newton, Mass./Newton South), Moynihan, and Lenahan placed third in the 200-freestyle relay at time of 1:43.90.
