Men's Swimming Falls to Delaware, 150-83

(Jan. 15) - The men's swimming and diving team lost to Delaware on Saturday, January 15, by a score of 150-83 to see their record fall to 0-7.

Chris Lengle (So., Arlington, Va./Washington-Lee) recorded two first-place finishes and John Willey (Sr., Riverside, Conn./Greenwich) notched a third for the Hoyas in individual competition. Lengle won the 50 freestyle (21.96) and the 100 freestyle (47.79) while Willey touched the wall at 1:45.63 in the 200 freestyle. In other individual events, GU placed first and second in the 200 breaststroke behind Michael Dowley's (Fr., McLean, Va./Langley) 2:22.85 swim and Rob Johnston's (So., Fairfax, Va./Flint Hill) time of 2:37.25. Bryan Evangelista (Fr., Northport, N.Y./St. Anthony's) was second in the 200 fly (2:05.98).

The Hoyas notched another one-two finish in the 400 freestyle relay as Willey, Lengle, Evangelista, and Will Miller (So., Farmingdale, N.J./Freehold Boro) came in at 3:16.28 while Michael Weiss (Jr., Margate, N.J./Cherry Hill East), Michael Mariani, (So, Belleair, Fla./Berkely Prep), Ross Savedge (Fr., Richmond, Va./Governors School), and Dan Gettings (Sr., Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey) posted a time of 3:34.79.

The Hoyas return to action on Wednesday, at 4:00 p.m. against George Mason at the Yates Field House.
