Men's Swimming Recap Against George Mason

The men's swimming and diving team fell to 0-7 on the season after losing to local rival George Mason 124-105, on Wednesday, January 19, at the Yates Field House.

John Willey (Sr., Riverside, Conn./Greenwich) and Evan Behr (Fr., Gwynedd Valley, Pa./LaSalle) posted the only individual wins for the Hoyas. Willey won the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:45.43, while Behr touched wall at 10:32.44 in the 1000 freestyle. Will Miller (So., Farmingdale, N.J./Freehold Boro) and Dan Gettings (Sr., Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey) followed Behr with times of 10:43.16 and 10:49.90, respectively, for GU's lone sweep of the meet. Willey also finished second in the 500 freestyle (4:52.85).

GU had several other outstanding performances as Chris Lengle (So., Arlington, Va./Washington-Lee) and Brett Daggett (Fr., Wauchula, Fla./Hardee) each recorded two second-place finishes. Lengle posted a 21.96 time in the 50 freestyle and a 47.68 mark in the 100 freestyle. Daggett registered a 151.05 score on the 1m board and a 162.3 finish on the 3m platform. Bryan Evangelista (Fr., Northport, N.Y./St. Anthony's) nabbed second in the 100 fly with a 54.69 mark.

The 200-medley relay team comprised of Kevin Feder (So., Camarillo, Calif./Camarillo), Matt O'Connor (So., Phoenix, Ariz./Phoenix Country Day), Ross Savedge (Fr., Richmond, Va./Governors School), and Seth Kundrot (Fr., Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Bishop Hoban) touched the wall for second-place with a time of 1:46.84. Willey, Kundrot, Evangelista, and Michael Mariani (So., Belleair, Fla./Berkely Prep) teamed to finishe second in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:32.12.
