WASHINGTON, D.C. (Oct. 31, 2000) -- Richmond's Eric Dutt (Melbourne, Fla.) scored two goals, including the game-winner in the second overtime as the Spiders rallied from a two-goal deficit in the second half to defeat Georgetown, 3-2.

The loss dropped Georgetown's record to 9-7-1 overall. It was the regular-season finale for the Hoyas, who open up the BIG EAST Conference Men's Soccer Championships on Sunday at Boston College. Richmond improved to 10-7-1. The Hoyas opened the scoring in the game's 22nd minute when senior Kyle Rakow (Dumfries, Va./CD Hylton) scored his first goal of the season. Truls Engebretsen (Oslo, Norway/Berg Videregaaende) and Kenny Owens (Washington, D.C./Wilson) had assists. Georgetown increased the lead to 2-0 when Tony Soric (Rocky River, Ohio/Rocky River) put home a feed from Greg Freeburg (Pasadena, Calif./Pasadena Polytechnic) early in the second half.

Richmond rallied with two goals in the final 20 minutes to force the extra frames. Ken Holiday (Hatboro, Pa./Upper Moreland) and Eric Dutt each tallied a goal. Dutt's goal came with just 9:10 remaining in regulation. In the second overtime, Dutt fired a shot which deflected off a GU defender to give the Spiders the win. Holiday had an assist on the goal.

Freshman goalkeeper Tim Hogan (Richmond, Va./Freeman) made seven saves in a losing cause for GU. Shawn Alexander (Southfield, Mich./Detroit Jesuit) made five saves for Richmond.

The Spiders outshot GU 28-11 in the contest.
