Volleyball Defeats Seton Hall, 3-0

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Oct. 7) - The women's volleyball team handed the Seton Hall Pirates a 3-0 (15-10, 15-8, 15-10) loss on Oct. 7, in McDonough Gym. The win improves the Hoyas record to 11-6 overall and 2-1 in BIG EAST play, while the Pirates fall to 6-11 overall.

Sophomore outside hitter Lauren Warner (Santa Ana, Calif./Mater Dei) and Yulia Vtyurina (Moscow, Russia/Moscow #1415) led Georgetown in the victory. Warner notched a match-high 12 kills and two solo blocks to go with six digs and two aces. Vtyurina posted a match-high four aces in addition to 11 kills, seven digs and a block.

Freshman setter Jennifer Ward (Huntington Beach, Calif./Mater Dei) tallied a match-high 35 assists in addition to four digs and two kills, while sophomore middle blocker Anna Kleinsorge (Los Altos, Calif./St. Francis), starting due to injuries, stepped up with a match-high five blocks as well as eight kills.

Senior middle blocker Meg Troller (Elmhurst, Ill./York), who is enjoying a terrific senior season, added seven kills and a block to the winning effort. Kleinsorge hit a team-high .571 (eight kills with no errors in 14 attempts), and Troller ended the three-game match with a .500 hitting percentage (seven kills with only one error in 12 attempts).

Freshman Laura Hart (Sacramento, Calif./Rio Americano) turned in a solid performance for GU. Hart contributed a match-high 10 digs to go with four kills, four blocks, three assists and an ace. Junior outside hitter Meg Mullen (Westlake Village, Calif./Westlake) added seven digs.
