Georgetown Women's Basketball Falls to Pittsburgh, 77-66

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh rallied from a 10-point first point deficit to defeat Georgetown, 77-66. The win dropped Georgetown's record to 15-11 overall and 8-7 in the BIG EAST. The Hoyas got off to a quick start and led 15-5 five minutes into the game. The lead didn't last long as the Panthers came back and led by two at halftime. GU shot 52 percent in the first half, while Pittsburgh made 48 percent from the field.

The second half was controlled by the Panthers. The Hoyas tied the game early in the second half, but Pittsburgh held the Hoyas scoreless for just under six minutes during a 13-0 run which sealed the game.

Katie Smrcka-Duffy led Georgetown with 25 points and eight rebounds. She scored 16 of those points in the first half. It was her 11th game of the season with at least 20 points. Smrcka-Duffy also moved into 13th place on the school's career scoring list in the game.
