WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Georgetown University senior captain Peter Finn (Derwood, Md./Magruder) was named this week's Co-BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week. The Hoyas handed 13th-ranked Connecticut their first BIG EAST loss in conference action on October 20.
Finn was instrumental in Georgetown?s 1-0 upset of Connecticut. He led a defense that limited the 2000 NCAA Champions to six shots, including just two in the first half. Finn is Georgetown?s third BIG EAST Player of the Week this season, with teammates Nate Port and Brian O?Hagan receiving the distinction on October 1.
The Hoyas are 6-6-1 overall this season and 4-3 in the BIG EAST. Georgetown will travel to Navy on Tuesday at 7:30 in a non-conference match. They return to conference play on Sunday at Boston College.
