Boston, Mass. ? Neil Krause scored his second goal of the game just 41 seconds into overtime as Boston College defeated Georgetown 3-2 today. The Hoyas fall to 6-8-1, 4-4 in the BIG EAST.
Boston College opened the scoring in the 16th minute when senior Chris Cleary stormed down the center of the box, faked a shot, then delivered the ball to Eyvind Aasen who came in down the wing and deposited the ball inside the left post. Bill Arnault was also credited with an assist. The Eagles extended the lead in the second half when Krause knocked in an Arnault cross from the right corner in the 53rd minute.
Georgetown mounted a comeback in the 57th minute when Kenny Owens (Washington, D.C./Wilson) settled the ball in a scramble in front of the net and scored the Hoyas first goal.
Senior Nate Port (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake) evened the score at 2-2 in the 62nd minute when Carl Skanderup (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) sent a ball across the field off a throw in to set up Port?s one-timer. Andy Sole (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Escola Americana de Campinas) also received an assist on the goal.
Krause, assisted by Cleary, gave BC the win in the 91st minute.
Hoya goalie Brian O?Hagan (St. Louis, Mo./Christian Brothers) tallied six saves in the loss. The Hoyas return to Harbin Field on October 31st when they host non-conference opponent University of Pennsylvania.
