WASHINGTON, D.C. (Feb. 5) -- The Georgetown University women's swimming and diving team dropped its record to 7-4 with a loss to the Delaware Blue Hens on Sunday, February 4 in Washington, D.C.
The Hoyas collected several wins on the day as Erin Lenahan (So., Western Springs, Ill.) placed first in the 50 free (25.44) and Caragh Moynihan (Jr., New Canaan, Conn.) placed first in the 100 free (55.30). In addition, Kathryn Harrison (Fr., Chatham, N.J.) collected wins in the one and three-meter diving competitions with scores of 230.50 and 225.15, respectively. Alli Linden (Jr., Darien, Conn.) placed third in the diving events with scores of 200.55 and 201.60, respectively.
Sunday's meet featured several other notable races. Lauren Moynihan (So., South Hadley, Mass.) and Colleen Newman (Fr., Staten Island, N.Y.) placed second and third in the 1000 free with times of 10:42.94 and 10:56.68, respectively, Liz D'Auria (So., Newton, Mass.) finished third in the 50 free (25.80), Genna McKeel (So., Tampa, Fla.) garnered third place honors in the 200 IM (2:19.00) and second in the 200 breast (2:32.39), Francesca DiSilvio (So., Hingham, Mass.) placed third in the 200 back (2:17.06), and Lauren Moynihan and Amanda Anderson (Jr., Denville, N.J.) placed second and third in the 500 free with times of 5:17.89 and 5:19.39, respectively.
The Hoya relay teams also enjoyed success on Sunday. A team comprised of Kristie Hunt (So., Glenview, Ill.), DiSilvio, Caragh Moynihan, and McKeel placed second in the 400 medley (4:12.06), and the team of Chrissy Costello (Fr., Lynbrook, N.Y.), Katie Hayes (So., Charlottesville, Va.), D'Auria, and Lenahan placed second in the 400 free relay (3:49.94).
The Hoyas will race next Saturday, February 10 at the Rutgers Invitational in Piscataway, N.J.
