The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I Women's Tennis Committee has selected Georgetown University?s women?s tennis program as a participant in the 2002 Division I Women's Tennis Championship.  The championship will be hosted by the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York, on October 11-13.

The tournament is a sixteen-team draw with a consolation bracket.  The format of the championship is three doubles and six singles with repeats. Regular scoring will be utilized in all matches.
